We're 93 days into governing Joburg

Dear Residents and Stakeholders

The last full update I gave was when the DA administration was around 34 days in. Today, we are around 93 days into taking over the administration of the City of Johannesburg.

My workload has increased substantially, as residents who had lost hope with the previous administration have now raised their hands and made contact about their unresolved issues and ideas.
The Mayor and his Executive (the Mayoral Committee) have been working hard over the past few weeks, understanding the City, the issues at hand, which projects to keep and which to dispose of, the way forward as well as implementing a ton of much needed forensic audits etc.
Whilst there is great expectation of immediate service delivery “now that the City has a new administration”, such is not the immediate reality. Much needs to change in the City including an adjustment of budgets, a relook at the Service Delivery Charter and Service Level Agreements, a change in City Officials attitudes and an increase in staff numbers and resource availability, just to name a few.
Please bear with the City as change takes place, continue to Look and Log your issues via the existing channels available to you (visit www.lookandlog.co.za for a quick “how to” guide), and escalate unresolved issues to my office, where required.
